Write for the Jugular

Tonic for A Long Week

You know what? It’s been a long week. I was going to write something with a little meat to it, but nuts to that. Sometimes we need to stop with the how-to stuff and just indulge our souls.

Imagination is the eye of the soul.  Joseph Joubert

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed. Theodore Roosevelt

No man should ever publish a book until he has first read it to a woman.  Van Wyck Brooks

Life can’t ever really defeat a writer who is in love with writing, for life itself is a writer’s lover until death — fascinating, cruel, lavish, warm, cold, treacherous, constant.  Edna Ferber

Loafing is the most productive part of a writer’s life.  James Norman Hall

All men who have achieved great things have been great dreamers. Orison Swett Marden

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Dr. Seuss

Imagination grows by exercise, and contrary to common belief, is more powerful in the mature than in the young. W. Somerset Maugham

A joy shared is a joy doubled.  Anonymous

It’s easier to go down a hill than up it but the view’s much better from the top. Arnold Bennett
